Municipality meets with Westenburg about smart meters

Polokwane Municipality is ready to start with the replacement of all the old water and electricity meters with new smart meters in Westenburg and has met with the ward councillor, community representatives and the contractors recently to ensure that the process will run smoothly.
Communications and Marketing Manager of the municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo, confirmed that the meeting took place but disputed the claim in the media that Executive Mayor Thembi Nkadimeng attended a meeting on 20 August and elaborated on plans for the future of Westenburg.
“We have an open door policy and liaise with the Westenburg community on an ongoing basis, while the municipality appreciates the cooperation of residents to engage with us regarding community issues,” Mothapo said.
Mothapo could not provide the actual date when the physical execution of the project will commence.
