Two debaters from Capricorn High School are included in a team of five who will represent the province at the national road safety schools debate championships scheduled for next week in East London.
Mahlako Kgomoeswana and Tsebo Sekole attained positions two and three respectively at the provincial tournament hosted by the Department of Transport at Protea Hotel Ranch Resort recently. Each received a trophy and cash prizes amounting to R8 000 for Mahlako and
R6 000 for Tsebo.
Debate educator Regina Sampa indicated the school last participated on the national stage in 2012 as they participate in the competition every four years depending on the invitation from the department. She said while the Limpopo team will be up against a team from each of the other provinces she was confident that they would bring the trophy home.
Two Cappies soccer teams not only emerged victorious at a recent a top four tournament hosted by Hoërskool Frans du Toit for the u.16 and u.19 divisions but also produced the best players of the tournament, Renda Mugwena (u.16) and Koketso Mokou.
Football coach Thabo Sako said the u.16 team beat Hoërskool Merensky 2-1 in the first match and went on to wallop Hoërskool Louis Trichardt 6-5 on penalties in the final.
The u.19s overcame Merensky 4-1 and claimed the first spot after beating the host 5-3 on penalties in the final match, Sako explained.
