Police appeal to the public to come to the fore with any information that might lead to the arrest of 22 highly wanted suspects allegedly involved in a series of business robberies in certain areas across the province.
The wanted suspects have allegedly been involved in no less than seven incidents of business robbery reported in the Groblersdal, Dennilton, Giyani and Northam areas as early as August last year until July.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that the suspects mostly targeted certain clothing stores located in shopping centres.
Among the incidents he highlighted was one at Markhams in Giyani CBD when four armed perpetrators allegedly stormed to shop on 2 August last year. They forced open a cabinet and fled the scene with 220 cell phones valued at R100 000.
At Totalsports in Groblersdal armed suspects entered the store and pointed firearms at employees. They opened the safe and reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash and 30 cell phones, Ngoepe indicated.
At Edgars in Northam on 13 September last year, two armed suspects ordered employees to open the safe where after they allegedly robbed cell phones valued at R700 000.
“We are therefore requesting the individuals captured by closed-circuit cameras to come and assist us with investigations,” Ngoepe said.
Anyone with information can contact investigating officer Richard Boshomane on 079 894 5501 or report to the nearest Police station.
