POLOKWANE – As the part of the phasing out process moving from the old Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) system to the South African Post Office, the old South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) cards will be replaced with the new gold Sassa cards on 1 October.
In a recent article on www.reviewonline.co.za, it was mentioned that beneficiaries are warned that about 900 000 grant recipients who had elected to receive their grants via an EasyPay Everywhere bank account would not receive their September grants in these accounts as Sassa had apparently failed to process the paperwork.
Sassa Spokesperson, Zwannda Kutama, says: “Sassa assures all social grant beneficiaries they will all be paid without fail for September and those with the new Sassa cards, or using their bank accounts, can start accessing their grants from postbank, ATMs and merchants from 31 August going forward as their grants will be paid into their accounts”.
Kutama further explains that everyone who wants to access government services are required to have their identity documents (ID).
“It is a requirement to have ID even when one needs to access Sassa services,” he said.
