POLOKWANE – Make it a family activity, let the kids knead the dough and roll it into the required shapes, then sit back and watch your masterpieces rise.
What you need:
Large bowl to mix in
Wooden spoon to mix and stir well
Different shapes of pans for fun looking bead (round, square, rectangle etc).
Ingredients:
1 package of active dry yeast
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/3 cup of warm water that must be 110 – 115 degrees
1/4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of full cream milk
2 teaspoons of melted butter
Add more melted butter (optional)

Method:
• Mix the yeast, sugar and water together in a large bowl.
• Add 11/2 cups of flour, salt, milk and butter and mix well with the wooden spoon (or your clean hands), for three minutes on medium speed.
• Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
• Turn the dough onto a floured surface; knead the dough for about 6-8 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic-like, knead it.
• Place in a oiled bowl, turn it once to oil the top as well.
• Cover and let the dough rise about 45 minutes in a warm place until doubled.
• Punch down the dough and shape into loaves.
• Place in two oiled pans.
• Cover the dough about 30 minutes and let it rise until doubled.
• Bake at 375 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes (until golden brown) as different oven temperature differ.
• Remove the bread from the pans to cool off.
• Brush tops with melted butter, sit back, relax and enjoy the bread.
