POLOKWANE – The Police operation consisted of members from the crime prevention units and the cluster detectives.
Police spokesperson Col Moatshe reported.
In the Giyani cluster, three suspects (aged 24, 34 and 42) believed to be the bigger criminal syndicate in the area, were arrested in Mghongoma village after they were caught red-handed during a house breaking.
“Officers received information about these burglary suspects which were terrorising the communities in and around the cluster and neighbouring areas and through the assistance of local residents arrested two of three suspects and recovered three plasma TVs.”
Further Police investigations were conducted and the third suspect believed to be from Polokwane was arrested.
All the arrested suspects have since appeared before the Giyani Magistrate Court on charges of burglary residence and will reappear on Thursday, 30 August for their formal bail application.
The suspects were also linked to other burglary cases around Tshilwavhusiku policing presinct in the Thohoyandou Cluster and for which they will appear in court on Tuesday, 28 August.
Meanwhile in the Tzaneen Cluster, three suspects were arrested during the joint Intelligent driven Operation “Ceasefire” which was conducted by both the Tzaneen Cluster Crime Intelligent and the Cluster Task Team around Tickeyline village in the Maake Policing precinct outside Tzaneen.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from possession of suspected stolen properties to possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and stolen goods worth R350 000 and a VW Polo recovered.

The Preliminary Police investigations revealed that these items were stolen during armed robbery incidents that were committed around the Giyani and Tzaneen Clusters in the recent past.
The suspects will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate court soon.
Whereas in the Polokwane Cluster, four suspects (aged between 23 and 32) were arrested in connection with a recent robbery at a school in Magatle.
The suspects were traced through an Intelligence-led joint operation composed of members of Polokwane and Mokopane Crime Intelligence joined by the Magatle Detectives, which was conducted in the Polokwane, Seshego and Zebediela areas respectively.
The suspects will appear before Polokwane Magistrate Court soon on charges of burglary business and possession of presumed stolen properties, Ngoepe concluded.
