Young Polokwane model scouted by top international agency

Seven-year-old Marlioné Botha is a young star on the rise in the modelling industry.

POLOKWANE – The young learner from Marnè Ebersohn Akademie started taking modelling classes with Ace Models Limpopo in the beginning of the year where she receives coaching from the owner, Jacqueline Ferns, and Sharon Stander.

Marlioné attended the National ACE Models Conference from 22 to 25 June at the Focus Rooms in Sandton City Gauteng where she was scouted by Ice Models International.

She was the only model from Limpopo three to seven-year-old age category to receive a call-back and is now being groomed for a brilliant future in the modelling industry.

Some of her modelling successes include first princess in the Miss Petite Kierieklapper pageant which was featured on Fiësta, Miss Liefdadigheidsmark, Miss Petite Kierieklapper 2018 and Miss Petite Letaba Show 2018.

Jacqueline said after being scouted by ICE Models International, Marlioné will go on a development board for her next step where she will be assessed by the agency during a two-month process.

“We will send photos and videos of Marlioné to ICE Models International every two months so the agency can keep track of what she looks like and if she is still meeting their modelling requirements,” Jacqueline said, adding they will send Marlioné to participate when ICE Models International opens castings.

ACE Models is a leading modelling academy in South Africa. The agency offers a unique and profitable opportunity to suitably passionate models.

“We train models within our agency and send them to ICE Models International where they can further their modelling careers. Ace Models currently has a massive national footprint with over 17 franchises in South Africa and Namibia. We host regular workshops where ACE models get the opportunity to work with big fashion designers, models and other professionals within the modelling industry.”

With 120 signed models in six months, ACE Models Limpopo is making strides in the industry. They have already signed two of their models with ICE Models International, 11 models with the ICE Development Board and four models with Alushi Models, a successful modelling agency based in Johannesburg.

“We wish Marleoné all the best in her modelling career and we hope she remains interested in this career path until the age of 16 when we will hand over her grooming as a top model to ICE Models International,” Jacqueline added.

Marlioné’s mother, Lize, said it is amazing to see how modelling has transformed her daughter.

“Marlioné was a sick, tiny and introverted child but modelling has helped her to come out of her shell. Today she is a beautiful, confident, shining and happy child who is not afraid of anything. It has always been my dream and prayer she would become this girl – a girl with a vision,” Lize said.
