Women in Business seminar paves the way for success

To celebrate Women's Month, author and Director, Itumeleng Kganakga hosted a Women in Business and Leadership seminar (WIBL) at Miami Lodge on Saturday, 4 August.

POLOKWANE – “This is our first annual Women in Business and Leadership seminar where I have gathered women from all walks of life to come and share their different and individual road to success stories in a quest to motivate and inspire other women in society to keep working hard until they achieve their individually set goals,” explained Itumeleng.

She said it is through such platforms, that women are afforded an opportunity to gather together and learn from each other.

Guest speakers included Dr Pashy Ntshani, an internationally recognised Anaesthetist, entrepreneur and motivational speaker who spoke to guests about how to move towards achieving goals, giving them a few points that will lead to achieving their individual goals.

This included finding one’s purpose, stepping into it as well as directing the flow of things so one can work at their own pace.

Another guest was Professor, motivational speaker and coordinator of the MBA Programme at Turfloop Graduate School of Leadership (TGSL), Matshidiso Kanjere who spoke about the importance of market research for business inspiring women.

“Research is very important in every aspect of professionalism as a person gets to learn about a certain niche or audience and thus are able to cater for that specific audience,” she said.

Other speakers included Mande Mokwele (who represented women with disability), Dr Raesibe Sylvia Ledwaba (who represented women in education), Patty Kgobe (who represented women in business), Tumelo Mmoa (who represented women and abuse), Samukei Ngwenya (who represented women in same sex relationships) and Naomi Mamakiri from Naomi Mamakiri Fashion Design who represented women in beauty and fashion.

The day was also a platform for small businesses to showcase their work and build clientele while enjoying a business networking session with other business-driven women from various industries, professions and walks of life.
