Water shortages probable due to shutdown at Ebenezer Plant

The Ebenezer plant is experiencing electricity challenges - LNW

POLOKWANE -The Polokwane Municipality is urging residents to use water sparingly. This follows a notification received from Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) that operations at the Ebenezer Plant have stopped.

According to a statement released by the municipality, LNW says operations at the Ebenezer plant are off due to electricity challenges. The Tzaneen Municipality is attending to the matter, but water supply to the Ga-Mamabolo, Mankweng and Polokwane areas will be affected.

“Currently supply is received from Olifantspoort only. Reservoir levels are critically low due to supply disruptions in the past 48hrs, therefore we urge residents to use water sparingly to avoid critical shortages,” says the municipality.
