#WFD – Spicy Chilli Mussel Pot

Serve hot with pasta or bread.

POLOKWANE – If you’re a seafood lover, this dish will have you asking for more.

What’s for Dinner describes this dish as mussels simmered with garlic and lemon juice in a deliciously spicy tomato sauce to make a seafood hotpot with a difference.

Ingredients

  1. 15ml olive oil
  2. 1 onion, diced
  3. 1 red pepper, chopped
  4. 1kg mussels
  5. 15ml Robertsons Spice For Fish
  6. 30ml crushed garlic
  7. 30ml lemon juice
  8. 15ml Robertsons Paprika
  9. salt and freshly ground black pepper
  10. 30ml Robertsons Barbecue Spice
  11. 1 x 400g can chopped tomatoes
  12. 15ml Robertsons Crushed Chillies
  13. 1 x KNORR Naturally Tasty Tuna Napolitana
  14. 250ml water
  15. 250ml frozen mixed vegetables

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot and add the onion and red pepper. Fry until soft.
  2. Add the mussels, Spice For Fish, garlic, lemon juice and paprika, and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  3. Add the Barbecue Spice and stir together for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the can of tomatoes, the crushed chillies and the contents of the sachet of KNORR Naturally Tasty Tuna Napolitana, and mix well.
  5. Stir in the water, lower the heat and cook for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the mixed vegetables and simmer for another 15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with pasta or bread.
