This will take place from 1 – 5 October and it is open for children between the ages of seven and 13-years-old.

“During the camp, the children will learn dog handling skills and dog safety. They will also learn how to build good relationships with their dogs,” explains Lizelle.

“The benefits of growing up with dogs are endless. Children learn about companionship and how to love an animal. They learn about caring for them and how to be responsible for someone or something else. Some children are scared of dogs and by growing up with dogs a child will learn not to be scared, not to hurt them and look after them. Animals are therapeutic to children.”

During the K9 Kids Paw Camp, children will learn how to safely approach dogs, how to bath and brush them and also how to train their dog/s.

“It is important to teach your child how to train their dog as a dog with good manners is a pleasure to have.”

During the camp, children will take part in dog-themed craft, learn about puppies, dog breeds and how to greet new dogs.

This camp will only be a week long, from 08:00 to 13:00 every day at the Von Zwei Dog Lodge on the R81, just past Mall of the North.

Prices are R150 per day per child and includes a meal, snacks, cool drink, study material, cap and certificate. Booking is essential as space are limited.
