Lexus LS 500: Bringing comfort to the driver

Residents looking for their next new ride were treated like royalty when they joined the launch of the new Lexus LS 500.

POLOKWANE – They not only had the opportunity to enjoy an open bar complete with snacks, but also had the chance to look at all the Lexus models on offer at the dealership. The launch of the car was held on Thursday, 2 August.

As a special treat, guests were given the opportunity to see the LS 500 launched last year and have a look at the car from inside and out as build up to the star of the evening the LS 500.

At first glance the size of the LS 500 catches the eye, at just over 5,2 meters the car can not be missed.

It brags with 20″ Alloy wheels with run flat tyres.

Sales Manager, Vincent Mnisi explains some of the features of the new Lexus LS 500.

The LS 500 brings comfort to the driver both inside and out. A hands-free boot opens at the swish of a foot.

The auto retractable mirrors are equipped with heaters and blind spot monitor functions.

Inside, the eyes slide along the two-tone leather finish that seems aerodynamically designed in pattern.

The panoramic view monitors keep the driver in tune with their surroundings.

Several cameras give the driver a view from all sides of the car and helps keep the driver safe around corners.

The LS 500 brags with 16 channels, 2,400 watts and 23 speakers make for the ultimate in sound quality.

With all the luxury features of the LS 500 the designers did not skip on focusing on safety. The pre-crash system with pedestrian detection reduces the likelihood of collisions by not only detection but implementation of the brake assist function on the car.

On the long road the high-speed dynamic radar cruise control makes use of the camera system to maintain safe following distances.

Inside the car passengers and drivers alike are kept safe by the 10 airbags and seats that automatically begin to return to an upright position if a collision is detected.

Sales manager, Vincent Mnisi, from Lexus told Review that the LS 500 is one of the cars that he would personally like to purchase for his parents as it is safe and comfortable at the same time.

“It is a car that you can drive from here to Cape Town if you like as the massaging seats keep you comfortable. At the same time, the vehicle will not allow you to fall asleep as a driver fatigue system makes sure that drivers are alert at all times”.

Guests took their time sitting in the driver seat and taking a look at the spacious interior and all the bells and whistles the vehicle has on offer. One of the guests, Martha Chuené told Review that she would be booking her first test drive the day after the launch. She was impressed with the soft running of the car for the power of a V6 engine.
