Four suspects were arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of stolen property during Police Operation Ceasefire conducted in Mmotong village outside Seshego on Monday.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that the suspects, aged between 32 and 39, are expected to appear in the local magistrate’s court soon.
He stated that a pistol, revolver, a Mitsubishi bakkie, five rounds of live ammunition, projectors, a tablet and eight cell phones were confiscated from the suspects. According to Ngoepe the pistol, a
9 mm, has been identified as taken during a recent armed robbery at Radipitsi Secondary School in the Matlala Policing area.
The origin of all other recovered items is still being determined through ongoing investigations.
