At time of going to press, finalists for the Businesswomen of the Year competition of the Limpopo branch of the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa (Bwasa) that was scheduled to take place at Sun Meropa yesterday (Wednesday) evening, had their fingers crossed in anticipation of the announcement of the winners.
Sixteen bright women were selected as the finalists in the categories Emerging Entrepreneur, Established Entrepreneur, Corporate, Professional, Youth Entrepreneur and Social Entrepreneur.
Lerato Sekgobela and Livhuwani Nenzhelele were the finalists in the Youth Entrepreneur section, Prenisha Rajdev and Connie Morgets in the Corporate section and Joanah Ngoasheng and Sandra Jansen van Rensburg in the Social Entrepreneur section.
In the Professional section, the finalists were Ellen Moila, Samba de Oliviera, Molatelo Mashabane and Matshidiso Kanjere, while Sheena Stander, Mpho Ndou and Katryn Celliers competed in the Established Entrepreneur section. Cate Oliphant, Kgadi Mushi and Cynthia Ndou were the finalists in the Emerging Entrepreneur section.
Renowned businesswoman, co-founder, chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Motsepe Foundation and also founder and chairperson of Africa Fashion International, Precious Moloi-Motsepe, was scheduled to be the guest speaker. This year’s theme was ‘The Economy is a Woman’.
