Social Development Department seek help in finding abandoned child’s family

The five-year-old girl was found abandoned in the toilets at Limpopo Mall in Polokwane on 8 June 2017.

POLOKWANE – The Department of Social Development are requesting any person with information about the relatives or next of kin of a lost child, to please come forward.

According to the department, the child calls herself  “Amo” and is currently five-years-old.

“At the time she could speak Sepedi, Setswana and Tsonga and mentioned that her mother’s name is Kabelo and her grandmother is named Anna,” a statement read.

A case was opened with the police but up to now, investigations into tracing her relatives have yielded no results. The Department is therefore appealing to the public to assist in tracing her relatives as soon as possible.

Any helpful information about the child’s family or next of kin can be directed to the social worker assigned to the case, Patricia Nelufule at 082 518 4297 or 061 232 5062.
