POLOKWANE – Today 1 August, a day that marks the beginning of women’s month, women will participate in a nationwide shutdown against gender-based violence.
The protest marches have been organised across all provinces and feminists and gender activists are calling on women and gender non-conforming (GNC) people to participate and to wear black with a touch of red to show solidarity.

Women are currently gathered at SABC Park and will march to the Premier’s Office in Hans van Rensburg Street where they will hand over a memorandum.
