Seshego Zone 5 residents work together to help local family

The residents and ward councillor of Seshego Zone 5, Cllr Nomomde Shivambu, joined hands to renovate and furnish the house belonging to Maria Rakgalwe as a way of giving back to the community

POLOKWANE – Paint, tiles, curtains and furniture were donated towards the project and on Saturday, 28 July the group came together to ensure the house was fully renovated and equipped with electricity and water. As a parting gift the family was given groceries and money for electricity.

Maria Rakgalwe could not stop thanking the community and the counsellor for their efforts in ensuring that they too have a proper home/roof over their heads as well sufficient food to see them through out this winter. “I received the RDP house in 1997 and even though we struggled without electricity for a long time the roof over my family’s head was enough for me. I pray that God continues to touch their lives and keep blessing them just as they have touched our lives. Words will never be enough to show how grateful we are,” she said.

Shivambu urged other communities to stand together and help those in need.

“This must serve as motivation for all other communities in Polokwane and the whole country because indeed we are because of other people. This just goes to show that Seshego is a community that stands together. We cannot just sit and watch other people suffer whereas we can help,” concluded Shivambu.
