Quick and easy sour milk scones recipe

These amasi scones are delicious and really easy to make

POLOKWANE – We live in a world where everything is readily available,  so we can’t help but admire those who make the time and put in the effort to bake goodies from scratch. Here is a scone recipe for anybody who is looking for an quick and easy recipe to follow to make perfect scones from scratch (without ready mix).

Ingredients:

2 cups of self raising flour

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons of vanilla essence

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup inkomazi/amasi

1 cup fresh milk

3/4 cup olive oil

Switch on your oven to at least 180°

Pour olive oil in a bowl, add sugar and eggs then mix until the sugar dissolves (doesn’t have to dissolve completely). Crack in the eggs, add inkomazi, vanilla essence and fresh milk then mix just until everything comes together. Mix the teaspoon of salt into the flour then mix in the flour to the wet ingredients gently, do not overmix. Grease your pan and the cupcake cases before you scoop in the batter then bake at the bottom first then the top just until golden brown.

Serve warm with butter or a topping of your choice.
