Thohoyandou man found hanged after wife’s murder

The police have opened cases of inquest and murder

LIMPOPO – Police Commissioner Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the latest domestic-related killing where a 35-year-old-man hung himself after allegedly stabbing his wife to death on Sunday.

“Family of the deceased found him hanging in the family home at Mandala village in the Siloam policing area outside Thohoyandou. Blood stains where found on the deceased’s clothes and further police investigations revealed that the deceased’s wife and car were missing, Police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.

“The body of the deceased’s wife was later found inside the said vehicle which was parked in the bushes near Thathe village. Her body has multiple stab wounds and the knife, believed to the the murder weapon, was found next to the body,” he added.

The motive behind this killing is not clear at this stage but domestic violence has not be ruled out. Investigations are still continuing.

“Residents are encouraged to consult with the relevant professionals or authorities in case of any domestic related situation rather than reverting to violence,”
concluded Ledwaba.
