POLOKWANE – “I have always been a creative at heart and passionate about fine art, so much so that I studied towards a qualification in fine arts. I remember when I was still in high school, my most favourite subject was technical drawing. Growing up I used to create photo frames from cardboard and paint tablecloths for fun.

“I use charcoal, metal, clocks and wood in most of my artwork,” she explained.

Having had some of her work displayed for people across the country, Khutso said her proudest moment as an artist was when her artwork was selected as as one of the top 100 for the Absa L’Atelier 2013 Young Artist competition in South Africa.

“I am an enthusiastic individual eager to learn new things in the art world. I always try to keep an open mind, I give myself time to develop new techniques and creations that express art in a relatable manner. I redefine ordinary objects that one would have in their homes in a more artistic manner which not only makes them aesthetically appealing but usable to the collectors. I always strive to create pieces that can relate to the collector’s sense of style and articulate their personalities as I get inspired by the modern way of life, by what I see and feel,” she said, adding it is always a pleasure for her to incorporate found objects into her creations.
