SAPOA to host Workshop

In an effort to capacitate and inform persons in the retail, industrial and commercial property industry, South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) Limpopo will host a one day strategic education session at Park Inn by Radisson in the city on 29 August.
The primary objective of the workshop will be to cultivate a broad understanding of the various courses of action available to commercial landlords and managing agents when dealing with tenants who default on their lease obligations.
The workshop will cover rental collections, remedies available for breach of lease and court procedures and will provide information on the landlord’s hypothec and other forms of security. Applicable legislation such as the Consumer Protection Act, the Companies Act and the Conventional Penalties Act will, for as far as it is relevant to landlords and tenants, be discussed as well. Other interesting topics of discussion will be the impact of liquidations and business rescue proceedings on leases as well as insight into recent case law impacting on the industry.
A rental property litigation expert will present the papers and the registration fees are R2 500 plus VAT for members and
