According to all the stations we phoned, including Engen, Shell, Sasol and Elegant Fuel, there will be no shutdown.

One manager told Review that the stations will loose too much money if there were to be a shutdown.

“We can look at losing up to R200 000. We still have to pay salaries and everything. By shutting down, we will only lose.”

According to police spokesperson, Brig. Motlafela Mojapelo, police have no knowledge of a shutdown taking place in the province.

“I have checked with relevant role players and we have received no indications of any strikes or shutdowns.”
