Polokwane businessman who shot Razeen Patel, out on R5000 bail

Patel was shot four times on the R71 on Sunday, 15 July.

POLOKWANE – The 22-year-old suspect, who is a businessman from Polokwane, appeared before the Mankweng Magistrates Court this morning, 26 July, and was granted bail of R5 000.

He appeared in court on 19 July and was remanded in custody.

Razeen, brother of murder accused Rameez Patel, was shot and was set to testify in the Polokwane High Court, on Monday, 16 July.

According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, Patel was shot along the R71 road between Mankweng and Polokwane near Makgeng village.

He is one of the witnesses still to testify in the Rameez Patel case.

The suspect, whose name is known to Review but can only be published once he has pleaded, will next appear in Mankweng Magistrates Court on 26 July for a formal bail application.

The suspect will appear before the Mankweng Magistrates Court on 7 September.
