Grade 7 learners at Northview Christian Academy had to come up with top-notch business ideas to stand out from the rest and earn better marks for their Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) subject during the school’s annual entrepreneurs’ day on Friday.
Participants had to buy their own products ranging from food, snacks, drinks to toys and sell to their fellow learners during break time. There were nine stalls on the day hence competition was tight. The event organiser and Grade 7 educator, Jublie Matiyenga emphasised that they wanted to equip learners with basic business ethics and added that the project will also be used to allocate learners marks for their EMS subject. She indicated that all the profit made goes to learners and the school only gets the money paid for each stall.
According to Matiyenga, 33 learners participated and she is happy with the way they conducted themselves and managed their respective businesses. Educators also supported learners by buying goods from all the stalls.
