BREAKING NEWS – Westenburg community meeting to be addressed by Polokwane Mayor

A meeting of community members in the volatile Westenburg, where unrest has prevailed the past few days, has apparently started around 11:00. Polokwane Executive Mayor Thembi Nkadimeng is set to address residents.
According to reports the situation is still not calm after three days of unrest.
The meeting is continuing despite members of the community, who are supporting the protest action not wanting it to proceed until community leaders in detention were released. They were reportedly arrested during and following Tuesday’s unrest in Westenburg.
Ten suspects were expected to appear in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court during the course of today (Thursday), according to Provincial Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe.
