POLOKWANE – The D19 road to Westenburg was blocked this morning (Monday) by residents from Westenburg. This follows yesterday’s protest which halted construction work at Extension 40.

According to a statement issued the Polokwane Municipality the road is currently closed to traffic due to an illegal protest. “The road is heavily backed-up and motorists are urged to use alternative routes,” the municipality said.
Police are on the scene and are monitoring the situation.
