What part of Madiba do you see in yourself? Residents speak up

Review took to the streets of Polokwane to find out what character traits of Madiba, they fins in themselves.

POLOKWANE-

Success Chauke – “I see his charismatic nature in myself. I don’t mean it in a conceited way but I just have a personality that just draws people in. Anybody who has followed Nelson Mandela’s life knows that as part of the legacy that he leaves behind, his wit and charm are some of the things people remember about him”
Maphuti Maloba “I think a trait that I saw in myself is the peaceful nature. I am usually the peace maker among my friends. I try by all means to resolve conflict in the most peaceful manner possible. That is something I feel is admirable.”
Marian Landsberg says that she would like to think that she will be remembered for caring about other people. “Mandela was a man with a heart big enough that you could load the whole world in it and he did not care who you are and where you came from, he just wanted to love people and care for them. This is something that we need more of and it will make our jobs, lives and country much better,” she says.
Madelein Klopper says that Nelson Mandela had the most positive insight and outlook on life and it is something that never changed. “I always try to be just like that even though it is not as easy as he made it look,” she says.
Nikita Crew says the love and respect Nelson Mandela had for people is what she strives for. “Mandela to me, is a man of respect and a pioneer for peace and equality.  We need more people like him, I can only try to be like him and teach the same to my son,” she says.
Jimmy Mafungu believes the way Nelson Mandela was able to work with people of all ages and races is something he would like to one day be able to do. “He was the kind of man that can talk to a crying woman now, then switch over and talk to a head of state and the next instance talk to children. He was a people’s person and that is something that I hope at the end of my lifetime people will remember me for as they remember him for that and many other things,” he says.
