The audit outcomes of municipalities in Limpopo for the 2016/17 financial year show a markable regression compared to the previous year, with none of the 27 municipalities that were supposed to be audited, receiving clean (unqualified with findings) audit opinions.
In an overview of the province’s audit outcomes, the Auditor-General’s Business Executive for Limpopo, Nthanyiseni Dhumazi addressed the media in the city yesterday (Thursday) and said, despite Premier Stan Mathabatha’s repeated warnings to municipalities that negative audit outcomes will be met with consequences, no improvement was noticeable.
