[WATCH] Polokwane Eskom employees picket to express their anger with proposed 6% increase

Anna Makgoba (Regional Secretary of Numsa Great North) spoke to Review

POLOKWANE – Employees on Thursday gave up their lunchtime to picket against the offer of a 6% wage increase proposed by Eskom.

Eskom made a revised three-year wage offer of 6.2 percent for 2018 on 28 June whereby the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) said it would consult its members about the offer.

Anna Makgoba (Regional Secretary of Numsa Great North) told Review that the employees say they will not accept the 6% increase Eskom are offering and want at least 10%.

The final outcome of negotiations between the workers and management of Eskom must reach an outcome on Thursday 6 July but workers said they will picket today and tomorrow to show that they are not satisfied.
