Following rumours that Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Onicca Moloi had posted a resignation note on social media and h forwarded a resignation letter to Premier Stan Mathabatha last week, the Office of the Premier confirmed today (Tuesday) that Mathabatha has accepted Moloi’s resignation with immediate effect.
It was further learnt that Mathabatha appointed Provincial Treasury MEC Rob Tooley as acting MEC in her place until such time that the position can be filled permanently.
Matabatha reportedly thanked Moloi for her sterling performance as years as member of the Executive Council: “Although we wished her to stay longer, we wish her good luck in her future endeavours and hope she will perform her duties with the same energy she did when deployed in Government.”
In the meantime Seaparo Sekoati remains acting MEC at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development until such time the position is filled permanently, it was reported.
