Volvo XC60 a treat for the senses

Volvo launched the XC60 2018 model on 21 June.

POLOKWANE – The auspicious event was attended by loyal clients and Volvo enthusiasts anticipating the reveal of the new Volvo XC60 which is the update of the older version. The SUV made a come back with a completely new shape and the interior has changed all together.

Normal, with SUV upgrades, the model is kept for about seven years and in about three and a half years, it gets a face lift with minor changes to the lights or the bumper. The Volvo XC60 has a completely new shape, and it’s the middle of the class, five seater.

It has standard features, navigation, cruise control and adaptive control, which means you can set the distance between the car ahead you and yourself from 40 meters up to a hundred meters.

“Say you are travelling 120km/h on the highway and there’s a truck in front of you and you are approaching it, the moment you reach the the distance which you have set between 40 meters and a hundred, and he is doing 80 km/h , your vehicle will automatically do 80 km/h and if he stops, your vehicle will stop at that distance. ” explained Steve Boudouris, Volvo Senior Sales Executive.

Khathutshelo Nemukombame gets a feel of the car.

It has pilot assist, which means that it will keep you in the lane. It should be emphasized though that this does not mean that the you can take your hands off the wheel, it just means that the car will assist you if you lose a moment’s concentration and touch the white or yellow line.

George Raleshuku loves the XC60 2018 model so much, he is already considering buying one.

Also taken into consideration by Volvo is the fact that you can’t stop another vehicle from hitting you, if that happens, with your seat belt on, both seat belts in front will tighten, the seats brake to the rear so it keeps you in the seat before the airbag comes out, which will prevent you from moving forward and hurting your face.

“Volvo is currently busy with adaptive software, where if at the stop sign and there’s no car in front of you, the car is not going to stop. It will be able to pick up a stop sign as well as red traffic lights. Once the software is developed, everybody around the world who is driving a Volvo will have the software downloaded to their car, for free. ” added Boudouris. It is clear why Volvo has been dubbed one of the safest car in the world.

Packson Netshisaulu, shared that he has been part of the Volvo family since 1999 and it has never disappointed him. “I was the first in Polokwane to drive the XC90 D4 inscription but I love this new Volvo, everything about it is exquisite. It’s like a second wife, she is definitely more beautiful than the first. I can already see myself leaving this dealership with one at the end of August.” he said.
