SA Cosmo’s sexiest man ’17 lives in Mokopane

South Africa's 2017 Cosmopolitan's sexiest man, Lebogang Rameetse (26) lives in Mokopane and recently also won the title of Mr King South Africa 2018.

MOKOPANE – Rameetse, who currently is signed to Boss Models in Randburg, grew up in Mpumalanga with his parents and four brothers and matriculated at DG Tsebe High School in 2009.

He explains that beauty and modeling has never been part of his life and the interest only developed when he was studying for his clinical dietetics degree at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in Pretoria.

“My friends used to encourage me to take part in beauty competitions, I was never really interested. They kept telling me I have the right qualities to become a model, so I decided to give it a try.”

Rameetse started winning various titles, with the first one being Mr Medunsa 2014, then he won Mr Jacaranda First Prince 2015, Cosmopolitan magazine South Africa’s sexiest man 2017 and was featured in the Cosmopolitan calendar.

The past weekend he scooped up the title of Mr King South Africa 2018 at the Carousel Hotel and Casino.

“I really did not expect to win the Mr King title. The competition was tough because we were 13 male competitors and 13 female competitors. I am over the moon with my achievement and I never thought I would be able to pull off being a model.”

Rameetse boasts he is not only good at modeling but that he also has an amazing singing voice. He has a band with his brothers called R. Saints which sings anything from gospel to wedding music.

“I think it is only through God that I can reach my full potential as a human being to be able to sing, model and be an aspiring doctor.”

Rameetse’s parents, Pastor Jim and Lovedalia says they are very proud of their son.

“At first we were unsure of what to expect and we still wanted to make sure he does not go overboard but still respects himself.

“He has grown into a handsome and talented young man and I believe he will reach even greater heights. Our whole family is very proud of him. His last title is a very big achievement,” Jim said.

Rameetse believes there is no one but himself to inspire him with his modelling.

“I believe that whatever I do is unique and that I inspire myself. I do that by working harder every day. I want to better my tomorrow to exceed my best of yesterday.

“I do believe there is one model, Maps Moponyane, who has more or less equal qualities than I those I do.

“I like the way he represents himself. He is authentic and kind.”

Rameetse laughed when Bosveld asked him what is next on his agenda.

“I don’t know what is next. I will see where the road leads me, but for now I am going to concentrate on my career as a doctor.”
