Eternally young at heart, Gogo’s give lifestyle tips to the youth

In the spirit of helping to groom the youth, gogos from the Itokolleng Batjofe ba Seshego in Seshego shared tips and advice on how they managed to lead a healthy lifestyle till old age.

POLOKWANE –

Dorcas Masegela said; “It saddens me to see these young people looking unhealthy and unfit to work, they are supposed to be more active than us but instead they are not. I suggest that they keep away from indulging in unhealthy habits such as drinking alcohol etc and rather start exercising and reading more. If they want, they are more than welcome to come and join in on our daily exercises,” she said.
Mokgadi Selina Rapanyane said, “A healthy mind means a happy person who will live longer. It is important for young people to choose their friends wisely and not have friends who will always bring negative energy to them and their lives. They need to keep friends who are hard workers and always positive because those two attributes are contagious in a good way,” she said.
Mokgaetji Molepo said, “Eating healthy and exercising is the way to go. Fresh vegetables, fruits and organic foods are very important because they contain no added preservatives. We grew up with eating pap and morogo and real meat, not these viennas and russians which we have no idea how they are prepared in the factories, which lead to unnecessary weight gain and illnesses. I advise the youth to strive to eat healthy and exercise regularly,” she explained.
Rachel Maboya said. “God is the centre of everything, if you have God in your life, life will be smooth and easy for you. The youth of today care less about their spiritual well being and hence do not have a close relationship with God. We need to teach the youth about the importance of having a relationship with God,” she said.
