MOKOPANE: Chroompark residents take hands, stand together against crime

Chroompark residents now have their own sub-community forum and WhatsApp group

MOKOPANE – Chroompark residents now have their own sub-community forum and members were elected on Wednesday, 13 June.

Chairperson of the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Andy Goetsch, says he is pleased to see a vast number of people that do take crime in the community seriously.

“The elected subforum will work closely with the CPF and together we can make a difference in our communities in combating crime.”

Col Isaac Mantjane, Station Commander of Mokopane Police, welcomes the elected forum members and says he is glad to see that the community takes interest in fighting crime.

“The only way to reduce crime is to work together. The police needs the help of the community. They will be our eyes and ears.”

Yvette de Graeve, Chroompark CPF Chairperson, says that “this is a great initiative and a free service to the community, because it is the community’s responsibility to report crime or any suspicious activities.”

Those interested in joining the forum’s WhatsApp group can contact De Graeve at 084 514 5416.

The newly elected Chroompark CPF subforum committee are as follows:

• Chairperson: Yvette de Graeve.

• Deputy Chairperson: Samuel Mathatho.

• Secretary: Ben Thobejane.

• Deputy Secretary: Dorothy Koopa.

• Additional member: Henning de Vos.
