Nephew of badly burnt man found in pit toilet arrested in connection with this murder

The suspect (29) was arrested on Friday night, 22 June.

LIMPOPO – Police in Dennilton outside Groblersdal have made a major breakthrough in arresting a 29-year-old suspect in connection with the brutal killing of a man at Matlala Lehwelere village this week.

According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, preliminary police investigations recovered pieces of tyre which are believed to be some of the objects used to burn the deceased, who was found badly burnt in a pit toilet. 

The deceased was positively identified by his family as Kaizer Makola (42)

“Following this gruesome discovery, a manhunt for the suspect was launched and the deceased’s nephew was arrested last night at the same village and he is being positively linked to this incident,” Ngoepe explained.

He added that the motive behind this cold blood murder is still unknown but domestic violence may not be ruled out.

“The suspect will appear before the Moutse Magistrates Court on Monday, 25 June, and will face a charge of murder.
