As today is Father's Day, we asked several residents who they think should run things at home: Mom or Dad, and why.

POLOKWANE – When growing up, it was easy getting your way if you knew which parent to go to. For some, it’s their mothers but for most, it’s their fathers.
In addition, some people feel that parents should take on different roles in the house.
With this in mind, Review asked several residents what their opinions were on the matter.
Kayla Doolings – “I think the Dad’s are the ones that should run things in the house financially. And they should let the moms run the grocery shopping and cleaning if need.”Lerato Mashaba – “In homes, fathers are the ones that should have the last say when it comes to things around the house but one thing I know for sure is that 95% of women are the ones that end up having the final say in most homes that I know of.”
Thabo Semenya – “Men should be the ones to have the last word in the house. And I’m not saying it because I’m a man, I’m saying it because it’s the way it’s supposed to be and especially in the African culture, that’s the way it’s supposed to be.”
Cara-Lee America – “I let my husband have the last say because that is how I was raised. I have two children, so my son who is the oldest would usually ask me for minor things like to buy him clothes etc. But when it’s money etc, he will run to his Dad. So whether I tell him not to give him money, it will still be his decision at the end of the day.”Lennet Thabo – “Men should have the last say when it comes to making rules and decisions in the house. That way a man feels respected and not belittled.”
