POLOKWANE – According to the municipality they have just been informed by Eskom that stage 2 load shedding will be implemented today in the city.
The planned load shedding will take effect from 12:00 until 21:00.
According to a statement issued by Eskom this is due to the impact of the current illegal protest action by some Eskom employees at various sites over wage increases.
“Eskom is working with all the relevant stakeholders to keep its plant operating optimally however there is a high risk of load shedding over the weekend. We call on all consumers to assist by reducing their electricity consumption by switching off geysers, electric heating, pool pumps, and all non-essential appliances throughout the day.
Customers are cautioned to treat all electrical connections as live during this period,” Eskom concludes.
Block 10 to 14 will be affected.
Block 10: Bendor, Bendor Centre, Woodlands, Mall of the North
Block 11: Penina Park, Ivypark, Ivydale, CBD between Suid and Thabo Mbeki streets and between Biccard and Dahl streets
Block 12: Flora and Fauna Park West of Mc DOnald Street, Golf Club, Edupark, All other sport club in the area of Cricket Club and both stadiums.
Block 13: Voortrekkerpark between Voortrekker and Webster streets, between Suid and Rissik streets, Ivypark Ext 34 and Meropa
Block 14: Seshego Zone 8, 5, 4 and 2, Madiba Park, Hospital View, Ext 73 and Zone 1 Ext
