The outgoing commanding officer of Army Support Base Limpopo, Godfrey Netshidongololwe officially handed over command to Albert Mukwevho at a change of command parade held at the army base sports ground last Friday.
Mukwevho’s curriculum vitae informed that he had joined the defence force in 1983 and became an officer in 1986 after a successful completion of officers’ formative course. He held various responsibilities while in the Venda defence force and completed a number of military qualifications that includes military observers in Zimbabwe, junior command staff duties in South African army and senior command staff programme at War College in Pretoria.
When accepting his new duties, Mukwevho pledged to serve with zeal and diligence and set a good example to those under his command.
The outgoing commander, Netshidongololwe said in life there is time for everything, time to come and time to go. He further said when he was in school he desired to be a lawyer but God had a better plan for him, to be a soldier. He joked saying he served in the defence force for 34 years and never took sick leave. He went on to say his journey had obstacles but he always raised his concerns with relevant dignitaries in a polite manner and most of his concerns were resolved. Netshidongololwe wished Mukwevho best of luck and urged him to follow God’s teachings for guidance.
