Learners and educators of Myngenoegen English Medium Private School (Meps) gathered at the school last Thursday to remember and celebrate former school principal, Yvonne Parks who passed on recently.
Parks worked at the school for over eight years and resigned last year due to ill health. At a memorial service in her honour, several speakers described her as hard working, a good organiser, leader and a strong woman who always produced quality work. It was learnt that Parks had requested that her ashes be sprinkled at the school and a tree be planted.
The school’s deputy head girl, Gift Tau described Parks as a lovely person who was passionate about her work: “She gave her all in everything she did. She will be missed and I thank her for leaving an imprint on my heart.” Tlhabanedi Lekganyane, head boy, said he will miss the one-on-one conversations he had with Parks and repeated that she was a strong and vigilant woman who had an astonishing love for children.
