Violent protest since early this morning (Thursday) has led to roads leading to and from Seshego being barricaded by debris and burning tyres.
Information has been received that Nelson Mandela Drive at the traffic circle in Seshego, the Mogwadi road and Matlata road at Extension 44 were closed by disgruntled protesters.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed the closure of roads and the Public Order Policing Unit’s (Pops) presence to monitor the situation. In the meantime commuters are reportedly seeking alternative means and routes of getting to work.
Polokwane Municipality Marketing and Communications Manager Matshidiso Mothapo also confirmed the unrest but could not provide definite information on the reason for it.
