Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe are among 11 other officers who were promoted to the rank of colonel during a special ceremony held in Mookgophong earlier today (Friday).
Ngoepe joined the Police in 1985 and quickly worked his way up to lieutenant in 1990.
“True to his calling, first as a Police officer and also as a detective, Ngoepe has successfully secured a number of life sentences on various crimes that he investigated during his career. The experience he acquired dealing with case dockets as an investigating officer makes him an astute communicator who fully understands and knows what to communicate and what journalists from different media houses need,” Provincial Police Corporate Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo said.
Ngoepe and 11 other officers were promoted by Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba who appreciated the dedication and loyalty manifested by all members. “The new ranks should not make you think that you have arrived at your destination. You must instead be propelled to do more in serving the people of South Africa in general and Limpopo in particular,” Ledwaba said.
