According to Women Manyano of the Methodist Church Chairperson, Kgomotso Sempe, they wanted to help where they could.

“Together we can address challenges faced by young girls in schools.

All the women who attended the handover made a contribution by donating three packs of sanitary towels. We felt it in our heart that we should help disadvantaged girls and encourage others to give. We always felt it was imperative to share the little we have with the needy. We did some research and found girl learners skip classes when they are menstruating as they do not have sanitary towels to use,” said Sempe.

She thanked everyone who contributed to the event and those who encouraged her to embark on more such initiatives.

She said she would continue to address the needs of those who are less fortunate.

CM Sehlapelo Primary School teacher, Makoma Dipela, thanked Women Manyano of the Methodist Church in Seshego for the donation.

“This means a lot to us as a school and the learners as a whole. Most of their parents are unemployed and cannot afford necessities like sanitary towels. This donation will help us to ensure the learners are able to attend school when they need sanitary towels, helping us to ensure better academic performance from the learners as they will no longer need to miss out on school,” said Dipela.
