Victims of alleged SASSA fraudster asked to come forward

The 48-year-old accused is an employee at Cash Pay Master Services.

LIMPOPO: The accused, Louis Morons Mothiba, was arrested on charges of alleged fraud and corruption after a Hawks’ Corruption Investigation Unit investigation into a incident where he allegedly switched SASSA beneficiary cards with a complainant.

“He intentionally gave the victim a discontinued card whilst he took the active one and withdrew R1100,” explained Hawks spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke.

Mothiba was arrested on 23 May 2018 and has since appeared before the Mankweng Magistrate Court on 24 May 2018 on charges of fraud and corruption and was granted R1000 bail, confirmed Maluleke.

“We appeal to those who might have been victimised by the suspect to come forward with information. ”

The suspect will appear again at the Mankweng Magistrate Court on 29 June 2018, Maluleke concluded.
