Pageant launched to motivate girls in her community

Founder of Face of Princessa in Greenside Extension 44, Princess Mohlola (17) says said she saw an opportunity to help the youth get involved in activities that would them.

POLOKWANE – “Having won Miss Extension 2017 and several other beauty pageants I learnt that when one carries a title, he or she can use it to change the lives of those around them.  My passion for community upliftment and upbringing grew steadily since I scooped various titles at beauty pageant competitions and I realised that when I speak on a particular topic, people actually listen. I have organised Miss Face of Princessa to get more youth involved in projects and activities that build the community. This competition will be hosted annually with the goal to recruit as many youth as possible to become involved in community development and upbringing,” she explained.

She spoke to the Review about the many social illnesses that she has picked up in her community such as drug and alcohol abuse and rape, which she says are the main problems that occur in her community.

“It saddens me to see young people my age stuck with no positive way forward to making a success out of their lives because of drug and substance abuse. My goal is to see more youth involved in activities that are positive and lead to one succeeding in life as well as overall community upbringing and development. I also want to contribute to helping to encourage women to embrace their beauty as well as strive to work on their individual talents so that they too can shine and be proud of themselves,” she concluded.
