Here’s what you need to know for this weekend’s Mayoral Race

The race will include a 21km, 10km and 5km run.

POLOKWANE – If you’re an athlete or you’re just looking to get some early morning excercise then the Mayoral Race is the place to be this Saturday.

According to the Polokwane Municipality, the 3-in-1 race will begin at 07:00 am at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Entries and registration is still open and you can register on week days from 08:00 to 16:00 as well as Friday, 18 May from 08:00 to 20:00 at the Sport and Recreation Offices (next to Virgin Active); Friday, 18 May from 16:00 to 20:00 at the Polokwane athletics Club (Old Peter Mokaba Stadium) as well as Saturday morning from 05:00 to 06:45 at the stadium.

All age groups are welcome to enter and entry fees are as follows:

R100 for 21,1km
R50 for 10km
R30 for 5km

The Municipality says that temporary licenses of R30 for both 10km and 21,1 km are required for those without permanent licenses.

The roads most likely to be affected include Suid Street, Webster Street as well as Dorp Street.
