Man found hanging from a tree after killing his wife and son (2) in Mankweng

Police in Limpopo are once again condemning domestic related killings, which are on the increase

LIMPOPO – According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the incident took place on Friday, 11 May in Ga-Thoka village in Mankweng, outside Polokwane.

“A passerby saw the body of the 33-year-old man hanging from a tree on a neighbouring mountain. Police and emergency services were called and the man was certified dead on their arrival,” he said.

Further investigations led the police to his rental house where they made a gruesome discovery.

“The body of his 23-year-old girlfriend and her 2-year-old son were found in a pool of blood. Both deceased had step wounds on their bodies,” Mojapelo explains.

The police condemn any act of violence perpetrated against women and children and urge anyone experiencing family problems to consult relevant authorities for assistance.

“The motive for this incident is not known yet but domestic related problems cannot be ruled out,” he concluded.
