Makoko welcomed as Limpopo Gambling Board new Chief Executive Officer

Gregory Makoko joined Limpopo Gambling Board (LGB) as Chief Executive Officer and Ex-Officio Board Member with effect from 1 May.
Makoko succeeds Serobi Maja who retired at the end of October 2017. Yvonne Mathabatha, LGB’s Chief Finance Officer, acted as Chief Executive Officer for the interim.
Chairperson of LGB Board, Elijah Tjiane addressed staff members of the board at a reception at its offices in the city last Wednesday, and said that the board was optimistic that Makoko would take LGB to greater heights and will uphold the legacy created by the previous leaders and in particular ensure that it retains unqualified audit reports from the Auditor General.
Mokoko is a former Deputy Director-General in the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs and has 31 years of experience in the public service. He holds a BA Honours in Social Work, a BA in Social Work and Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
“The Board welcomes Mr Mokoko to the gambling regulatory industry and wishes him all of the best,” Tjiane concluded.
