He was found guilty of contravening a protection order.

“The court heard that on 6 December 2017, Nhlungwana contravened the protection order that was issued against him, by threatening a 31-year-old woman, Gracious Mhloti Shipalana at her residence. The complainant is said to be Nhlungwana’s ex-girlfriend. The incident took place at Shikwambana village near Mhlava Headkraal near Tzaneen,” she explained.

Ramakgoakgoa says Nhlungwana’s sentencing should send a clear message to all perpetrators of domestic violence that the law will be applied mercilessly against any guilty persons.

“All crime incidents, especially domestic related ones, are treated with high intensity and people are urged to seek professional assistance rather than resorting to violence,” she concluded.
