LIMPOPO – Police in Saselamani, outside Giyani have opened an inquest docket after the body of a 10-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree at her homestead, Nkovani village.

According to police spokesperson, Constable Mienkie Ramakgoakgoa, the girls body was discovered by her friend on Sunday, 6 May.
“The traumatised child alerted elders in the village after seeing her friend swinging from a tree behind the house. The matter was reported to the police and emergency services and upon their arrival, she was certified dead,” she said.
The deceased was identified as Ntwisiso Tshabalala, a Grade 4 pupil at Tivoneleni primary school.
“We urge parents and guardians to look after their children and always be alert of their whereabouts. The cause of this tragic incident is not known yet but police investigations will reveal as they are ongoing,” she concluded.
