PEPPS Preparatory School and College will soon expand its premises and sport fields to accommodate a larger number of learners after purchasing Cosmo Leisure Lodge and Conference.
The 8,5 ha plot will double the size of the school and PEPPS executive headmaster, Annabel Roberts indicated that they were happy with the achievement although it might take them up to five years to get things in order. She said the school was full to capacity and they have been turning learners away for the past eight years but with the newly purchased property they will be able to accommodate more learners in the future.
PEPPS currently caters for over 700 learners and Roberts emphasised that they were forced to reject at least 40 applications every academic year. Each grade has two classrooms which they intend to increase to three. Roberts further said the school was letting the church continue to operate for a while before they take over.
“We are going to build more sports fields and turn some of the buildings into classrooms and change rooms for sports teams. We are also planning to start a nursery school for the younger ones in the future for parents to make one stop until their children complete Grade 12. Polokwane needs more private education facilities which are affordable and offer modern education,” she explained, adding that the property was bought at a fair market value.
Roberts concluded by saying their initial mandate was to provide quality education to the people of Limpopo and that is what the school continues to do.
